2019 Winner: Montegut Global Scholars Program
We are delighted to announce Snezana Knezevic as the winner of the 2019 WONCA Europe Global Scholars Program.
Snezana lives and works in the city of Kraljevo, Serbia. She graduated at the Faculty of Medicine in Kragujevac, Serbia, in 1994, with a specialisation in General Medicine in 2010. She is a general practitioner in a health care centre in Kraljevo. Her team cares for 1,800 patients preventively and curatively. Snezana is also the coordinator for her health centre’s battle in the violence against women, a member of the multisector team for domestic violence, and a member of the presidency of the Serbian Medical Society, in the General Medicine Section.
Snezana also regularly writes scientific research papers, and has published 21 papers to date. She was the first in her country to investigate doctors’ attitudes towards violence against women, as well as the barrier in detecting more cases of violence against women. Her work was published in indexed journals. This year Snezana also became a member of the WONCA special interest group for family violence. She will be awarded USD 2,300 to attend the WONCA Europe Conference in Bratislava this 26-29 June, 2019.
